Book Review: I Don’t Wait Anymore by Grace Thornton

Have you ever had to really ponder to decide whether or not you liked a book?

That’s how I Don’t Wait Anymore was for me. For some reason I really couldn’t get into this book. It had a great message and lots of travel adventures but it was still hard for me to make myself pick it up and read it. I do a lot of nursing though so I ultimately did end up finishing it.

The bottom line is that it was a good message, about giving our lives to God. I think what made this book hard for me to get into is that while we can all relate to the message, I couldn’t really relate to the author’s reasoning for writing about it. Her dream was a husband and children, which she doesn’t have. Well, I do have a husband and children so I found myself having to sub in other things a lot.
And honestly, I think maybe it might even have had a little bit of a backwards effect on me in some ways.

I’m a travel bug. I still like to travel, even with kids, but we’re in a stage where it’s very difficult. Honestly, just getting to the grocery store is a little difficult right now. So reading about all of her cool adventures made me a bit wanderlusty which is of course not the ultimate goal of the book by a long shot.

I don’t not recommend it, it just didn’t resonate with me the way I expected it would.

Have you read this one? If so, what did you think?
