Spirit of God Illustrated Bible

My kids and I read a Bible story every morning. Once we’ve finished with one book, it goes on the Bible story shelf and we pick the next book to start moving through.

We recently got the chance to check out the Spirit of God Illustrated Bible and I’m so happy we did!
This children’s Bible storybook (I do want to emphasize that it is a storybook, not an actual Bible) is in full color. Each story is a few pages long which means there are multiple photos so it holds my kids’ attention longer. My five-year-old adores it. My three-year-old likes it but it does seem to be too wordy for her at the end of a story sometimes. My two-year-old likes the pictures so still sits in with us but in general seems to be overwhelmed by it.

Each story begins with a verse of actual scripture but then, like most children’s Bible storybooks, the story is paraphrased rather than told in exact scripture.

I like the writing style of the stories quite a lot. I like the color and detail in the illustrations (although not necessarily the cartoony faces, just not my personal preference) but my five-year-old son in particular really liked them.

If you’re on the hunt for a children’s Bible storybook, definitely consider The Spirit of God! You can see a sample here.

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
