Adopted- I stumbled across this book while I was doing some research for my current writing project and was so thrilled I did! This is the journal of a young woman who was adopted from Uganda. She shares very deep feelings that broke my heart but I was so inspired by her vulnerability!
Book Girl- I love the Clarkson family and I love to read so it was a shock to absolutely no one that I loved this book. Also, when B asked me what it was about I told her, "well... it's just about books, I guess. It's an author I really like talking about the books that have been really important to her throughout her life." "Can I read it when I get older?!" =]
Ghost Town Treasure- This is another children's book from the Good and the Beautiful book list and I really liked it. I think Clyde Robert Bulla is a new children's favorite of mine--especially because his books are boy-friendly!
Gifts from the Sea- Also from the TGTB book list, also great! I kinda figured I knew how it would end but it was still fun getting to that point.
Reading People- I've always loved reading personality profiles and digging into all the myriad unique individuals God put into my life, especially so I can better understand them/communicate with them. If you're an INFJ like me, THIS IS YOUR BOOK! If you aren't, I still think it is so so good, and so incredibly helpful in understanding the people we love! We just moved and Ryan and I pack so differently. We've known this for a while now, seeing as we're frequent movers, but moving was the absolute perfect time to read this because it helped me to not only understand why he is so much better at packing than me, but also to coach him in coaching me, if that makes sense.
But, no, it did not work. I was still slow and terrible at packing.
Too Blessed to be Stressed for Moms*- I'll be honest and say that I just don't love humorous books. I always plan to love them but then just... don't. But this one really did make me crack a smile a few times. Her writing style is very humorous and in this case, I really do think it works. Something I really liked was that each chapter was episodic so not only was it easy to pick up, it also means it'll be easy to refer back to things in the future since my children are all still little. I get stressed very easily and imagine I'll be checking back from time to time! See a sample here.
*I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review through I Read with Audra

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
