Father's Day

Father's Day is a painful day for so many of you. Death, drugs, divorce, distance, estrangement, health, infertility, completely different lifestyles, a painful childhood... So many reasons. If that's you, I'm sorry. I see you. Your feelings are valid.

But it's also a day of celebration for many of you. A day of excitement, joy, nostalgia. It's a day to step back and see the amazing fathers and father figures who helped shape you, who loved you and taught you and fought for you, who inspired you and believed in you and never let a single monster get you.

Happy Father's Day to my dad, who once climbed up on our roof with a Super Soaker to ambush the neighbor kids during a street-wide water fight and who does the best voices when he reads stories to my kids.

Happy Father's Day to my husband, the literal best daddy ever. I am so proud of the example he sets, the standard he's setting, the way he's raising our children. I knew he'd be a good dad but I could never have imagined just how amazing he is, the level of love, the joy I would find in watching him be a father to my babies. We are just so lucky to have him 💙

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
