Cookbooks

After dealing with so many painful and debilitating symptoms I'm on a very strict autoimmune protocol (AIP) diet that's had me flipping through Practical Paleo (my very favorite cookbook) a lot. I talked a bit about that book on Facebook and Instagram, and then some AIP-specific books came in from the library. It's all had me thinking about some of my favorite cookbooks and I thought I'd share those today.

Diane Sanfilippo, author of Practical Paleo, also wrote 21 Day Sugar Detox and 21 Day Sugar Detox Cookbook. Both are mostly paleo so we have those, too. The pumpkin smoothie above is delicious and I look forward to drinking it often after I get wisdom teeth out later this month.

A, who is 7 and entering second grade, got inspired and decided to make something from his Paleo Kids Cookbook each month. This month he's making the veggie spaghetti and meatballs, but we also made the "Paleo Piggies" (pigs in a blanket) together for snacks this week and all five of my people were big fans. My only complaint is that I'm not sure what to serve them with. I just served them with green smoothies and that was fine but as a full meal that wouldn't really work.

I also really enjoy the Whole 30Nom Nom Paleo, and Well Fed cookbooks, and i enjoy tweaking the recipes of Eat Better Feel Better Live Better, Lodge Cast Iron Cookbook, and The Everything Wild Game Cookbook.

But honestly? I most prefer simple, few-ingredient dishes that don't require a set recipe. These will always be my favorite meals to put together.

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
