10 recent kid reads

Amigo... I found this early reader in a Little Free Library and thought I'd give it a try. This is a cute story about a boy who wants a dog and can't have one so trains a prairie dog instead. This one went on our book list for the second/third grade range.

Cece Loves Science... I found this when I was searching for chemistry books. This was more about science in general but I liked it.

From Tree to Sea... This is a short and lovely book combining nature with the beauty of life's simple things.

God Made You, Too*... I loved the message in this book- God made all the things in this world you find most beautiful or profound and he put just as much into making YOU! I also loved the colorful illustrations and so did my kids!

I am Marie Curie... This was another one I found when searching for some chemistry books. This will be perfect for informing my kiddos in a simple, easy-to-understand way. The illustrations have a comic book feel on quite a few pages.

Little Fox in the Forest... This is a wordless picture book, again with a graphic novel feel at tines. I liked the illustrations and plot both but I'm a word girl and don't usually love wordless picture books.

Midnight & Moon... All three of my girls adored this lovely book about a girl who doesn't speak and a horse who can't see. This one is very well-written and beautifully illustrated, a definite new favorite for us.

Nothing*... We loved this great message- nothing can separate you from the love of God! It makes me very happy to imagine this message being read over and over again, etched in the hearts of children for life. We also love the illustrations!

The Princess in Black and the Mermaid Princess... This is book 9 of a beginner chapter book series my girls really like. I thought it was cute and they were very happy with it.

The Storm Whale in Winter... Apparently this picture book is a sequel. We've never read the original but I think we were still plenty able to understand. Cute, lovely illustrations.

* I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
