This week I had the pleasure of reading through both the boy and girl version of the brand new Veggie Tales devotionals- God's Word for Me for boys and God's Word for Me for girls.
I found the content inside them to be fully gender-neutral so it is really just the covers that are gender-specific.
I appreciated these devotionals and I'm so excited to have added them to our shelves! I think they really work well for around the third grade reading level, however, my first and second grade readers can both easily handle them and are already enjoying these books.
I appreciated seeing both Bible stories and modern, real-life application centered around scripture and biblical principles. Each day's devo also includes a prayer prompt.
These are probably the best devotionals I have read for this younger age crowd and while my kids already loved Veggie Tales they have sparked a renewed excitement for them this week. They even had me draw a VeggieTales face on the butternut squash I brought home from the store last night.
