50 bookish questions. Actually 20.

I saw these bookish questions and, I don't know, I wanted to answer them. Full disclosure, I don't know this blog and have no idea what kind of content exists there.

If you fill this out too, I wanna know about it!

1. What’s the first book you ever remember reading? In a Dark, Dark Room and Other Scary Stories. (Late at night in my bed. The green ribbon story freaked me out)

2. Did someone read to you when you were a child? My mom read to me a ton!

3. Who’s your all-time favourite book character? I spent too long thinking about this. I dunno.

4. Who’s your favourite author of all time? Your favourite book by them? This changes every few years but right now it's Karen Kingsbury and her Baxter Family books

5. Has a book ever changed your life? Yes! Many books have changed my life. I'm a very reflective reader. The very first was Meet Addy (has a new name).

6. What genres do you love? Contemporary Christian fiction with a specific focus on family dynamics and personal growth. But also memoir, time slip, historical fiction, and middle grade. Occasional suspense.

7. Are there any genres you dislike? Fantasy, sci-fi, western.

8. What author (who is still living) would you dearly love to meet? Eh, they're just people. I'd rather be home with my family that day.

9. Have you ever met a (famous or semi-famous) author face to face? Where? Jodi Picoult at a reading in Arizona, 2010.

10. Do you prefer paperbacks or ebooks? Why? Paperbacks, because they're superior.

11. Have you ever read a self-published book? Yes, many! The most famous being A Christmas Carol 😉

12. What book or series do you hope and pray will be turned into a movie or TV show one day? The Baxter Family books! They're working on it though

13. Do you think there are any movie adaptations out there that were actually better than the original? Yes, but none are coming to mind at the moment.

14. Has a book you like ever been turned into a movie or TV series that you hated? Hmmm, good question! Not in the Christian realm. I hated the ending of My Sister's Keeper but I don't remember the book now. Not sure if there were others.

15. What’s more important to you: prose or story?  It's important to me that both are good. The balance shifts depending on my mood.

16. What attracts you to a book? The cover? Blurb? Recommendation from others?  All of the above but mostly the blurb.

17. Have you read any of the old classics? What did you think of them? Yes, several. Loved some, hated more. Mostly love the children's classics.

18. Has a book ever scared you or given you nightmares? Oh my, yes. So many! I'm a big baby.

19. Are there any books that are really popular but you dislike? Catcher in the Rye. Twilight. So much dislike I won't even link to them.

20. Are there any books that are considered terrible but are your secret pleasure? I don't think so? Not that I can remember.

It turns out copying these questions over is annoying and this isn't fun anymore so 20 it is!

Thanks so much for your comments! I always read them, don't always have time to answer quickly. Sorry about that!
